One thing kids wont have, is the quality time kids spent with their parents/friends going to arcades, blockbuster/hollywood video, etc.. My dad used to take me to hollywood video every friday to rent a movie or game after school on friday to have something lined up for the weekend. Shout out to pops
thats probably most of them are anti social as hell even though they have access to talk to more people online than ever before. Their real world transactions with regular people are few and far between it seems
That's what most of these nikkas don't think about when they talk shyt about how things used to be. These new kids don't have any kind of people skills and don't know how to interact with one another.
People said the same thing 20 years ago about the youth and video games. Kids still go to school, have parties, participate in after school activities, play sports, etc. The lack of socializing kids do is dramatically overblown. The same kids that spend all of their time online would have been the same kids growing up in our day that played the game non-stop, and never went outside.
not even close to comparable
In some aspects they were right. Childhood obesity has skyrocketed since the 80's and there's a growing epidemic of socially-retarded kids out there that wont be able to function in society.People were making the same correlations between video games and anti-social behavior in the 80s and 90s that are being made about Internet usage today. If anything the uproar about gaming and it's long term psychological effects on children was much more extreme. There was legislation going all the way back to the early 80s to ban arcades because people thought kids playing games would negatively impact society, and even the Surgeon General at the time was advocating against allowing kids to play video games.
Outside activity in the 80s n 90s was still a priority over games.People were making the same correlations between video games and anti-social behavior in the 80s and 90s that are being made about Internet usage today.
