Blockbuster.
Such fond memories of being a wee-lad and renting an N64 game or two with mom/dad.
SMH at there never being enough new releases.
SMH at there never being any game manuals.
SMH at people hiding the good stuff behind random lame games to save for a later date.
SMH at the shiesty rental policies.
SMH (vertically) when you find a new release at the check-in/drop-off pile.
Blockbuster.
Let's not forget the countless times the dyslexic ass employees put the wrong game in the case
And having to play that

shyt through the weekend cause pops was like "fukk you, play your game you ungrateful little shyt"
It really depended on what size/rank your store was in the district about how many games you got. They would get shipped usually a week before release (Employees could take them home during this time, and when they were released (games on Tuesdays, DVDs on Fridays) we put them out. If it was a big store or high transaction store and it was a big title like Halo was back then, theyd have a whole shelf of them. BB/HV employees were some of the first BIG dvd quality rippers so they changed it where you got the shipment the night before so there wouldnt be perfect copies on the street before the dvd.
You had to go up to the counter and ask for the manual. When we prepped them, if you were doing your job, you ept the mauals up front so when people would ask for them, we can note their account and be able to hold them responsible if they didnt return it.
People did hide shyt. Every night someone is supposed to go "block the library" which was checking behind every movie and placing it where it should be for this reason.
BB had a pretty good policy though breh. It was midnight the day of, then got pushed to noon the day after because people had the dumbest ass excuses and complaining. Talking about "I cant come out at 11pm, I have kids or I was drunk." Im like "Ok, there was 23 previous hours this day you couldve brought this back. Its not due at midnight, its due ANYTIME before midnight. You had all week to watch and bring this shyt back

" An inside tip was that there was actually no way to charge a late fee for a movie unless it came after 3pm on the due date so people lying about late fees talking about I returned that last night, you just didnt check it in were hilarious because in our system, its late after 3pm the next day.
And yeah, the smart people would come in and say "fukk the shelf." and go straight to the counter. Theres was always a stack of movies that just got checked in to go back out that probably had it. And if there wasnt any on the counter or the shelf, you just had to ask them to check the drop box. People were like "Damn you completely out?

...*clank*...

....someone just returned something, I heard it...can you check please.

"
I used to work at Blockbuster when I was in highschool. I was at the one in Atlanta off Holcolmb Bridge and the Old Alabama Rd one in Alpharetta, the one in Beverly Hills and the one in Santa Monica. When I say there was fukkery going on, man I mean fukkery. I loved that place and all the shyt I got into because of it. Everyone used to come through. I used to run movies up to Ozzie's house, Mary J Blige house, Tom Hanks place, Lindsay Lohan's etc. Getting invited to their parties and home theatres and shyt. Had all they credit card numbers and shyt too lol.
