i moved in with 2 roommates like 3 months ago. my roommate called the landlord 3 separate times leaving messages and he hasnt responded. i wanna take action but the landlord doesnt know about me living here cuz my name aint on the lease :scheme: so i feel like theres not much i can do. my roommate aint going as hard as he should be and its pissing me off.

me personally i would blow his phone up and leave a voicemail every single day. what sucks is that i cant just move out cuz im the one who put up the bread for the deposit. $1700 for first/last. and my roommates are some broke cacs so i cant just leave and have them pay me back.

at first we planned to just stop paying the rent and put that money to the side and use that to move into another crib but i heard thats illegal. we called the courthouse to see what we could do and they basically cant do anything for us. so basically we'd have to take it to court and find him to subpoena him. :snoop:

theres gotta be something i can do, i cant keep living here cuz i keep getting sick, and my health aint worth the risk. i need advice brehs! help!

stop paying rent, it's extra hard to evict people. my BFF did that when her landlord kept having issues with the gas and she couldn't heat her place in the winter. they made him fix it, then she paid the back rent.

also, call some mold removal folks and get quotes, give them your landlords info to follow up.

edit: just saw you aint on the lease, if your roommates aren't trippin, you might need to move cuz YOU can't do shyt

Black mold is Hazardous to your health. Every day you live there you are breathing a toxic hazard. You really better get out of there. Again

BLACK MOLD IS A HAZARD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take photos of the mold. Have an expert look at the mold. Keep records of correspondence between you and management. Go to a doctor. Move or take them to court.

Poisoning Symptoms

Black mold poisoning occurs when a person is exposed to the mycotoxins produced by this mold species as he inhales air contaminated with mold spores or when he eats food contaminated with it. The severity of poisoning symptoms depends on the exposure time and the quantity of spores that the person was exposed to. Allergic reactions of the respiratory and/or the nervous system are by far the most obvious symptoms of mold poisoning. Other than these, the poisoning symptoms range from chronic fatigue and reddening of eyes to infertility and miscarriage. The most common symptoms are:
Difficulty in breathing
Vision problems
Reddening of eyes
Ringing in the ears
Hearing loss
Sensitivity to sound
Dirt like taste in mouth
Chronic fatigue
Lethargy
Headaches and dizziness
Hair loss
Muscle twitching
Joint pains
Nausea and vomiting
Allergies to food
Panic attacks
Anxiety
Depression
Mood swings, irritability
Inability to cope with stress
Memory loss
Lack of concentration
Frequent upper respiratory infections
Chronic cough
Swollen lymph nodes
Stomach ulcers
High level or prolonged exposure to the mold can also cause:
Asthma
Seizures
Heart problems
Bleeding in lungs
Nosebleeds and pulmonary hemorrhaging (especially in infants.)
Development of rashes and hives on skin.
Problems caused due to irritation in mucous membranes.
Irregularity in blood pressure.
Damage to the digestive and respiratory systems.
Infections of urinary tract, problems in urination, etc.
Pain in liver and other internal organs.
Anaphylaxis on re-exposure to toxic molds

If you are breathing black mold, you are in trouble and should consult a Dr.

yea true...this guy said hes sick already...might b 2 late :snooze:...

try washing the mold off urself..put a mask

If its on a wall like the bathroom yes a mask and some bleach spray. SPray it on there and just let it sit. It will eat it up and you can wipe it down later. Throw away whatever you wipe black mold with.
