I pretty much grew up in the areas Kanye did.
That shyt is totally different than Englewood the past 15 yrs.
IMO the whole southside was much different in the mid/late 90's.
For the most part if you werent gangbanging actively you were straight...but now?

My sister and I were talking bout it a while back but it seemed like there were more stable black neighborhoods in the 90s. At least compared to now.
Even englewood as fukked up as it was seemed more vibrant in the 90s
