Is there anywhere you can get real loan shark stories...This shyt is interesting like what @unit321 said, whats stopping somebody from just taking the money and dipping?

shyt don't work that way usually they want something for collateral, wedding rings, family jewelry, stuff like that ( I know what you thinking why don't you just pawn or sell it) pawn shops don't give you shyt and selling last minute is the same. Other thing is they just don't lend to anyone you have to come very referred, there almost always mafia guys with deep ties in the community, and by the time you get to ask them for money that means you would have already asked a bunch of other people, some of which they know

Who knows if loan sharks are still around. Seems to be a thing of movies and TV shows. I cannot see why you would loan a person huge amounts of money with high interest when they can just up and leave out of sight.

Think about it. You aren't the police or law enforcement. You can't cover thousands of square miles. The person can leave by car, plane, train, etc. If someone commits a crime, they have to move undercover, because they are wanted, there's an APB, etc. With the criminal world, that doesn't exist. You can just fly out to Canada or Europe. That's it. Gone. Unless you had some kind of collateral, it would be the dumbest way to lose thousands of dollars. Even if you put a GPS tracker on that person. They could cut it off, then they are free to travel anywhere.

Well. They don't have a storefront you can just walk into.
You have to know somebody that would refer you to them.
So if you decide to skip town that's on the person who referred you.

And there are loan sharks everywhere.
Say you take out a loan for 1,000 dollars.
Typically you would pay 4% or 40 dollars a week until you pay back the loan in full.

The beauty from the loan sharks perspective is this.
Say the average person takes out a loan for 1 or 2 thousand. A lot of people would rather pay 40 dollars a week then put together a thousand just to take care of it.

If you have 5,000 lent out on the street...that's 200 dollars a week in steady income.

Every single person which I know which eventually went through a loan shark never had good experiences, there are so many downsides to it, most will charge you 5% per week, so 10k will cost you 500$ a week, most also will charge you a minimum or 4 weeks, so that's 2k minimum interest you're paying even if you would pay them back in 24 hours.

Also it becomes an issue, most people which loaned money from loan shark always go back and some start going from loan shark to another by loaning and paying to another creating a loop which never ends. A close friend of mine almost died for this shyt. He survived a hit, took 6 bullets, and he still fukking around with this shyt.
