Get a WD. They're the best, in my opinion. Make sure you get the one for macs though. The PC ones don't work with macs for some reason.

Quality matters, and get a big external. I got a 6tb for $179 a few weeks ago.

PC ones work perfectly fine on Mac after they've been formatted (which takes less than 5min)

The PC ones do work on Mac. I got a 6tb wd and it works on there you just have to format it.

"Mac" externals are the Monster cables of external storage.
