I need your help finding info on the mentality of white America during the civil rights movement and prior in the form of news interviews and newspaper article and opinion pieces and books just any firsthand account. Also I'm interested in teen white America during the civil rights movement and any clashes the newer generation had with older generations regarding race as well so that'd be nice. I'd also like some things on black America as well so basically the things I stated before if you have it.
Will y'all help a breh out :lupe:?

@kp404 is definitely an intelligent brother, but how are you going to verify anything he says? And is he really gonna give you any information that isn't already available to you online? The coli is a message board, message boards are usually not a good place to look up facts, breh, they are more for opinions :ld:

The Black Community
Manning Marable's Race, Reform, and Rebellion: The Second Black Reconstruction
Aldon Morris's Origins of the Civil Rights Movement
Akinyele Umoja's We Will Shoot back: Armed Resistance in Mississippi's Black Freedom movement
Neil McMillen's The Citizen's Council: Organized Resistance to the Second Reconstruction, 1954-1964
Derrick Bell's Silent Covenants: Brown vs. Board of Education and the Unfulfilled Hopes for Racial Reform
Cedric Robinson's Black marxism

All of these are essential and powerful reading the fields you asked for. of course the number one primary source document you want to read is the Moynihan Report on how whites view the black family then...

I also know of journal articles so hit me up if you want more

The stuff I say on here are my takes based on the facts I get from primary sources but I agree that the best place to find info is in books and the lived experiences of the oppressed, not the net

nah some books are garbage though...these are ones that stand the test of time and offer a clear picture from the viewpoint of the black collective
yup not all books are created equally

it's only as good as the person writing it.
