send it to me and ill reflow it for you for free. I fix E74's all the time. But ewww@ them quick fixes you did. I tell everyone to stay away from them xclamp fixes. Its not the xclamps that cause the red ring,its the cheap ass lead free solder used under the GPU. a good reflow should last you til the 720 drops.

Unrelated to the thread, but we switched to that lead free bullshyt at my job like last year. i fukking hate it b. shyt takes forever to heat up and it flows like shyt...and its shyt on components...everything looks like a fukking cold solder joint

The old flux we used to use was alright. it was pale.


This new shyt looks like apple cider; smells terrible especially when it gets heated up

A new system has no announced date. It may or may not be out next year. Personally I think 2014 because unless they announce it at CES then e3 to November is too quick a turn around to put out a system.

If you really just want GTA V buy a 360 from Target the day it comes out and you got a 90 day return policy. Beat GTA V and box it up and return the console.

thinking about this route. after 89 days returning to target. backing up on my external hard drive then buying from walmart, then returning to walmart, then kmart im going to return every 90 days at several retail giants until the 720 comes out

dude lives on the other side of the country. one way or the other, it's not gonna be "free". plus he already tried to fix it, so he's probably thinking going through the trouble to send it all the way to you may be in vain. not to mention you could just steal his shyt, and all he could do is give you neg rep

personally, for my piece of mind, I would just find a local used joint that provides some sort of warranty. $100 and done deal
