Remember that the old testament was written in old hebrew so when we do our best to translate it to our language, some words and meanings become obscured. In the old hebrew, I know scriptures like that could have many different meanings like "I have talked with God as you would a friend face to face". And also take into account that many times throughout the old testament, God communicated with man disguised as an human being as well.
Alot of us get slipped up because we take to the scriptures too literally and its not our fault. They have just been translated millions of times so the more new editions come out, the further we get from the original text and meaning.
so the only way to truly understand is to speak various languages that either don't exist or have less than a million speakers?Remember that the old testament was written in old hebrew so when we do our best to translate it to our language, some words and meanings become obscured. Genesis 32 is the story of Jacob wrestling with an angel and the angel trashes his hip permanently with one touch. The verse is in context to the story it belongs in.Both are King James Version
GENESIS 32:30- and Jacob named the place peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved
JOHN 1:18- no man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten son, which is in the bosom of the father, he hath declared him
Will which one is it dammit
