I think most black men believe in God or some type of higher power. They just don't go to church because the church doesn't directly speak to them or their issues. Also, it's hard to keep black men believing that prayer will fix everything when they see black men and women getting mistreated and murdered at will with no punishment or repercussions from the justice system or society for that matter. Black men feel like they are out here on their own.

Im an atheist but the vast majority of my friends who are also black males have some sort of belief in god. But they don't really go to church either. People are moving away from religion as a whole so its natural that atheism across all lines of race/ethnicity is on the rise. The devout man of church is a relic from our parents age.

I don't know if ya know this but the religion/rituals was for lower class the esoteric knowledge was for nobility. If y'all only knew how fukking codified abrahmic religions are. They were purposely transliterated. Cosmology, astronomy, alchemy, chemistry all that shyt is in the bible. It's kinda like how crackers will tell you that Egyptians worshipped animals when in actuality the elements were anthropomorphized in order to explain phenomena in a simplistic form. Religion will always be bullshyt. Even the indigenous people we call archaic know soooooo much shyt. But they play stupid as they should.

I never really thought about it, but I think most other black men I know don't believe in god, or are just plain indifferent towards religion.I'd say it's like a 55/45 split, but for a lot of us, religion isn't a big deal either way, so we don't talk about it too often.

were opposed to Christianity before I came on the coli. I've never met a black man who was like this. :why:
Sure there are those heathens who do heathenous things but they still believe in God and have a cross tatted on them somewhere. I even know thugs who post bible verses everyday.
It's like I refuse to believe it. It's downright baffling, it's like yall say this stuff for shock value:patrice:
Do you guys really believe in no God? What made you this way?:lupe:
Not believing in religion does not mean no God. Be spiritual not religious. I'm more surprises that you find it strange for black people to get away from white Jesus :skip:

My connection to God has nothing to do with a church

Educate yaself...

it's not that. It's just I've never heard black men being vocal about it until I came on the coli. I understand that ppl have different beliefs and I respect that but why have I never met a black man who thought like this?:mindblown:
Its easy to claim christianity and do absolutely nothing christian besides saying you believe in God.

i asked a friend once if he thought slavery was a good thing since it brought black people closer to *christ* and he said yes. Ultimately you have to cosign a lot of fukkery imposed on black people by cacs, to claim christianity.

I believe most black people believe in God, as in a creator but religion as practiced today is losing its value. There is a lot of wisom in holy books but to live your life by words that have been altered by cacs without a question is sad.

Keep in mind a lot of these dudes on the coli are straight up degenerates.

Maybe after church we can hold a friendly contest in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

I remember going to church as a kid. Some of my aunts who were in there catching the holy ghost on Sunday were the main people gossiping and doing other foul stuff throughout the week.

Too many hypocrites in the Black church for me to take it seriously.

I would say its not so much a Coli thing but more of an internet thing.

But then again I do believe in God and my faith is very integral to my life. :lawd:

But I would never force my views upon someone else. Discuss them? yes, gladly.

same thing, brother.
