Da city where the skinny nikkas die
the sheer amount of time you have to put into a game to get to that level makes it not worth it.

I read an interview where the #1 guy in the world in Guitar Hero said he'd go to work for 8 hours then come home and put in 8 more hours of work in Guitar Hero.

basically dude's life was work, GH, then sleep.

:wow:

How is it not even EVO status when the first prize gets a million while Flocker(guy who won UMvC3 at Evo this year) only got like 5000.

I was gaming competitively in counter strike source for quite some time. I use to put in 6 hours a day into that shyt. Its to hard to be good in shyt if you don't play it all the time and I mean all the time.

ok smart ass, tell me one other thing you currently do that you alot 8 hrs a day to (besides work). if it's that simple then you should be a beast in anything you want (not only video games) because nothing is stopping you
I didnt say you COULD become anything you want just off hard work. but in general really good musicians, skill sports players, actors, etc. hone their craft for hours.

I dont really see whats your problem here. you cant play skill-based games for 1-2 hours a day and suddenly be good at them. unless you're a special talent, everything takes a lot of practice and hard work.

This shyt was obviously the next step from the old arcades of the 80s and 90s. It's obvious to me anyway. I'm older (37) and remember a time when there'd be 100 people around a "Street Fighter" or "Mortal Kombat" machine....real fights breaking out over a video game....so attaching money to this and treating it like a professional tournament is the next logical step.
