Yeah, it fukks with individual and team records, but it's still needed. I used to be in favor of a longer season for selfish because I'm a basketball stan and I had time while I was in school. Since graduating and having a 9-5, the shyt's been harder to watch than ever.

Every season, we enter it with missing stars due to injuries or them rushing back to not miss out on games. Howard rushed back last season and Rose dealt with the pressure all season. We have Kobe rushing back this season and Westbrook missing games now which is going to affect the Thunder season.

We have owners complaining about lack of attendance in small markets leading to them looking to move the team, and casual fans not paying attention until Christmas Day. Back to Back records are always sub .500 for the 2nd half of them. Players hardly have time to recover from injuries or rest as they are constantly traveling on 3-7 game road trips.

I would suggest cutting back the season to 60 games, no back to backs, and starting the 2nd Saturday of December. Teams kill themselves over the course of the season and we find the least injured team having a huge advantage in the playoffs. The 7 game series is great for the playoffs, but it still is no use if the Thunder are missing Westbrook, Bulls are missing Rose, Lakers missing Kobe. The shorter schedule would also be good for older players who have to sit on back to backs (Duncan, KG, etc.).
