I never understood the Tyrese Haliburton hate in the first place tbh.

"Look at how SGA/Haliburton smiled after the game, this is why I can't respect this new generation, they corny as fukk :scust: "

"Yes Ja, do more of those gun signs :noah: Do you think he'll finally get past the 2nd round this year :gladbron: ?"

We need a Kevin Samuels to set those coli brehs straight :wow:

"You see how ANT don't give a fukk about these old heads, he'll drop one on they head and be talking shyt. This what the game needs. He only 23 too and I know he got Pawgs lined up :noah:"

After Hali shyt on a whole city - "Look at his corny ass celebrations, smiling and shyt. This finals gonna be the WOAT. Two corny Pawgers :scust:"

He is a terrible floor general game 5 showed that. He is only effective when scoring, which is backwards for a true PG.
Since we're using one-game sample sizes, he was an effective floor general in Game 2 despite struggling with his shot. He's had multiple games in these playoffs where he's had to solely generate offense through his playmaking because he struggled to score.

And to further emphasize that point -

Given the breakneck pace he likes to play at and his flamboyancy, he'd be forgiven if he committed a ton of turnovers, but he's one of the least turnover-prone ball-handlers in the league.
As for his success he plays in a weak conference. Reality is if a Boston didn't have the injury they would be repeating as EC champs. Oh well he will get swept in the finals. Hope that is not held against him as others.
Weak conference or not, it still doesn't explain how he's had all this playoff success when players who're judged as being superior to him haven't had a fraction of it. For all his inconsistencies, he still manages to be a highly-effective player who makes shyt happen, as evidence by him leading more improbable comebacks in a postseason than anyone in recent memory. Whether you want to argue he doesn't fit the mold of a traditional PG or his approach to the game is volatile, you can't argue with the results.

He's a star, in every sense of the word, and anyone who argues otherwise clearly has some ulterior motive.

I'm not using a one game sample, and I'm glad you brought up the games he is successful in, that literally proves my point regarding his wild inconsistencies.

1) Many didn’t think he should have gotten the Olympic slot
2) He kind of typifies a new kind of personality that a lot of basketball fans don’t like. Kind of a cornier, upper middle class kid who doesn’t fit typical personality mode of most NBA alpha players. Doesn’t seem to have the killer instinct of a Kobe or MJ, seems less relatable than someone like LeBron, etc. Didn’t really revolutionize the game like Curry. People feel the same way about Tatum but Haliburton just seemed like a bit of lamer dude, so the hate concentrated on him.

How the hell can anyone say this after we just saw Brunson be a black hole for the Knicks when he's in the game :mindblown:
What does an evaluation of Tyrese have to do with an evaluation of Brunson? Stay on topic. That said if it akes you feel better I don't look at Brunson as a PG but a glorified 2, that is extremely limited as well an ideal 3rd option.
