Gibbs is a great rapper but his image and music isnt marketable for the mainstream. What did he want Jeezy to do? put out an album that would flop and lose money? YG blew up under Jeezy because he had a more marketable image and music. Gibbs better off being independent and putting out critically acclaimed music.

YG had a Joint Venture which allowed greater flexibility as far as creative control to make the music he wanted as well as having leverage business wise

Freddie Gibbs just like most CTE artist signed development deals and expected better results with Jeezy considering they were placing thier career in his hands along with the fact he was fully responsible for the funding via advances and budgets...

Freddie isn't alone in his gripe....

Also are justified in thier gripes with Jeezy

Roccett from Cali made some amazing music but like Roccett said Jeezy just wasnt passionate about thier careers as he should have been

I think he was mad because he was doing good hustling independently and Jeezy must have had him convinced he was gonna take him to the next level. CTE didn't do shyt for him outside a few features.
Yeah, he said as much in interviews. That and it seemed like Jeezy basically just used him as an attack dog for the Rick Ross beef while not actually wanting any smoke

basically wanted the jeezy stimulus package like YG, didn't work like that for a variety of reasons and tbh he can't put it on jeezy.

gibbs jumped all the way out the window dissing ross and mmg. one could say gibbs looked like a bit of a fool for them only to make peace. part of the reason jeezy couldn't get him a deal was his reckless reputation.

hmm, I know there isn't a perfect deal but it seems to me that this might be the best bet for an artist on a big label. Gucci has one with Atlantic and todd moscowtiz fukks with him heavy, stayed with him when he was even locked up.

Heard it had something to do with Jeezy not being happy with Gibbs speaking on being on a leaked joint with Eminem that was supposed to be on TM 103.

Honestly I think a lot of it was just...Gibbs is not a background dude. He's not a team player, he's too good of a rapper to be sidelined. He had to leave, but just leaving wouldn't be good enough to his career...there had to be a conflict, so he created it. Yea I'm sure Jeezy wasn't the best boss but I doubt anything happened that was truly worth beef. Hence why Jeezy seemed to have zero interest in responding. Gibbs needed a beef to get his name out there. It didn't really work tho. Thankfully Pinata worked, and the rest is history.
