its not so much about hype but anout quality control.
the hardward and the software they use work hand in hand to make an overall COHESIVE product.

most other company just slap randown hardware and random OS's in their just to get a product on the store shelves.

Not to shyt on my dudes thread, but to get a true Hackintosh you should hit up tonymacx86


They're using real OSX compatible HW (same as in the retail Macs) in custom built desktops which gives you the best of both worlds. I'm past due for a new system (built from scratch) so I'm getting all compatible HW just to see if I can do it. If it works, I'll triple boot. Otherwise, no harm and no extra $$ spent.

I'd just buy a MacBook before I fukk around on a laptop though. MacBooks really do have a better package than a regular old Windows laptop....
