I have a dislike for hip-hop/rap as a whole because of the glorification of drugs, gangs, etc. Sooner or later this love affair will be terminated once we realize the majority of the art form is demonic speech that does not uplift our communities in any way. It would be one thing if the extraordinary wealth amassed by hip-hop recirculated its way through the community, but it doesn't.
Now to Pac. Pac represents all those things. Making Brenda Got a Baby, doesn't undo the damage of California Love or I Get Around. Pac came along around the crack baby epidemic and I can see how someone like him could easily fill that void most young black people at that time needed and that was someone to look up to. Unfortunately it was someone who had Thug Life tattooed across his belly. I know all about the acronym thug, but what it means on the streets is not that.
