I really gotta ask...are people overlooking Drake lyrically?

I mean R&B wise, the man arguably has done more for the lyrical content than most of his peers not named: Frank Ocean or Miguel or The Dream.

Cause it damn sure wasn't any mainstream R&B artist out there. Trey couldn't/wouldn't dare bring his mixtape vibes to the mainstream and I don't know any other mainstream male R&B acts out there really holding it down.

And rap wise...I'm convinced people really think Drake isn't talented out here in him putting words together.

I ask because on this "Hold On, We're Going Home" track, it sounds amazing but the lyrics are the type of shyt you'd hear him maybe telling a stripper or your homegirl you've been feeling.

I really don't think he gets his props for even being a mainstream guy.

I honestly blame rap fans for sleeping on him when Room for Improvement and Comeback Season (and all the freestyles/features in-between) for him not sticking to that lane because thats really where people wish he did more stuff.

What does rhyme patterns have to do with lyricism? Even if the thread was about a true lyricist, your opinion is no longer valid

If Drake is R&B then he's at the bottom, them studio effects can only carry you so far when it comes to singing. CB, Trey Songz, Miguel, Frank, etc shyt on him singing wise. If you can't bring it live, you can't sing :yeshrug:

And from a rap standpoint, it don't matter how good you are if you sound like a bytch and rap about saving hoes and coming up with stupid ass anthems like Yolo & No new friends. Ain't nobody tryna hear that.

He ain't have no choice but to be on bytches Love Me cuz ain't no (and I use the term very loosely) "real" nikkas fukkin with him

Are you saying lyrically he's not nice with it?

and you listed two songs. Don't be stupid.

As for your first question I'm not gonna answer cuz I don't want you quoting me and posting his songs cuz I guarantee you will be 100% wasting your time.

And you cant count i named 3. Those 2 songs are plenty. He comes up with stupid anthems, Yolo has costed people their lives and he's advocating people be introverts and not go out and network. That's plenty to know he's a hypocrite fukk boy. I don't listen to that drama club bytch so I wouldn't know how many other retard anthems that queer has come up with.

I've already wasted enough time on this shyt :snoop:
