I mean R&B wise, the man arguably has done more for the lyrical content than most of his peers not named: Frank Ocean or Miguel or The Dream.
Cause it damn sure wasn't any mainstream R&B artist out there. Trey couldn't/wouldn't dare bring his mixtape vibes to the mainstream and I don't know any other mainstream male R&B acts out there really holding it down.
And rap wise...I'm convinced people really think Drake isn't talented out here in him putting words together.
I ask because on this "Hold On, We're Going Home" track, it sounds amazing but the lyrics are the type of shyt you'd hear him maybe telling a stripper or your homegirl you've been feeling.
I really don't think he gets his props for even being a mainstream guy.
I honestly blame rap fans for sleeping on him when Room for Improvement and Comeback Season (and all the freestyles/features in-between) for him not sticking to that lane because thats really where people wish he did more stuff.
