I remember in HS a nicca would see somebody put a 45 on each side and press that shyt up,,,had a young nicca like :wow: :to:

I needed a spotter just to make sure the 25's wouldnt kill me

Now a nicca do 225 for reps....only about 4-5 at a time....but thats good for me

Same here, I could put up the two 45's in sets of 8, but couldn't bench over my own weight. I was 145lbs and everybody said you should at least bench 20lbs over your own bodyweight to max out on.

Time went by and I put on some more weight to my frame and kept lifting, and told myself I was going to ht that double figure.

I still remember when I put up that 200lbs. Got off the bench feeling like :blessed:

Props to you for reaching your goals! :salute:

I used to struggle with the bar, in middle school, be so sore I couldn't even bring my fork all the way to my mouth to eat after. All the while my older cousin was putting up 300 with. Ease, it took me ya out ten years but I finally caught up with him, as soon as I did I switched to dumbbells.

I understand exactly where you are coming from. I started lifting about 3 years ago. I was only able to push 2 35 pound plates, now i'm ready to move on to 235 for reps.

We all start somewhere

No one picks up 200 and starts chucking it around their first time
