i remember i first started lifting free weights around 8th grade. was struggling to put up 115. looked at all the older guys on my team pushing 275-335 and knew i had to get there. highest i ever maxed out on bench was 255 but for baseball i didn't really need bench strength, more core and legs. max squat was 405 x 5

I remember when I couldnt do it too. Now my max is 270. I do 135 on burn outs and I can do it 25 times.

A nigha just did 4 sets of 225 x 8-12 today, with 2 sets of warmup at 185x15 and close-grip cool down at 135x15


It was a full, upperbody day though... With no pre-workout:wow:

Most I ever benched was 275×4. Squatted 375 my senior year of HS (below parallel!).

I haven't done a bench press in about 6 years, though, and I'm not getting anywhere near a squat rack unless someone puts a gun to my head :sadbron:
