I was still holding out hope that the old No Limit sound would come back. The quality had been fell off by early 99 and I was still buying it. He really underestimated how integral BBTP was to No Limit's success.
C-Murder and sillk dropped some straight doo-doo around Jan-Mar in 99. I wasn't surprised at Sillk's album being trash but C-Murder really shocked me with how bad his 2nd album was Life or Death is a top 5 NL release but then he came with Bossalini and it was garbage juice.
Let's not ever talk about that TRU album that spring.
Man those spring-summer 1999 releases were mostly pure basura. Ppl will say Fiend's 2nd album was good, I wouldn't because I never could stand his gruffy voice in the 1st place. I barely liked Mystikal for that same reason, but he was a star so he could make undeniable music.
