I, Robot all day..

I'm surprised this is that close
"I Am Legend" should have stuck with the novel's plot. I guess they didn't want Will Smith portrayed as a villain in that movie.
I am legend was terrible and pussed out after claiming that it would stick closer to the book than the Omega Man (which was a far superior movie) did.
Also the CGI was shytty.
How was it supposed to be?
In the book, Will Smith's character goes around during the day slaughtering "vampires" while they sleep and you find out at the end that these people weren't really vampires at all, and had managed to live with the virus and even maintain some semblance of a society whose only real threat was this maniac going around killing innocent people during the day. He ends up being the "Legend" in question...like the Boogeyman. He's arrested and put to death for his crimes.
