Redman did save Def Jam. They had nothing moving before Reds first album. All the acts they put out had flopped.

I think I remember reading in the Def Jam book that Redman's first album was huge for Def Jam. I thought Redman was going to be talking about that. I'll have to look that up again.

Im confused on how a label could have so many gold and platinum plaques running out of money every single year.

The promotion costs for those albums, including allegedly purchasing albums so the first week soundscan numbers looked good and record stores would order more albums.

Redman dropped a lot of wisdom in that video that A LOT of people NEED to see. The last part especially..... it seems like not too many people understand this but want to be "in charge" or "leaders".
