I saw it when it first came out, I thought it was pretty good. But I have a sneaking suspicion that the writers and producers really thought this was gonna be the kind of movie that would sweep at the Oscars, and have people talking about it years later. But this movie has ZERO Oscar buzz, except maybe for best makeup.

Went in with modest expectations....came out like this
I only intermittently connected with the stories on an emotional level, but I still found myself at least interested in all of them. But I was absolutely fascinated by the films construction. From what I'd read/heard I was expecting a confusing mess...but I never lost my place in the narrative. It was kind of exceptional in that regard.
This is probably one of my favorite films of the year to be completely honest. Has a spot in my Top 10 at the moment...of course, there are some heavy hitters I have yet to see....

The marketing guys fukked uuuuuuuup. It's basically a giant timeless epic lovestory across all social/racial/gender boundaries - and not just love as in romantic but also brotherhood and respect etc.
Only trailer I saw made it look like a weird sci-fi flick. I think they tried to sell it as another Matrix

is there a thread complete with spoilers where the film is discussed? definitely have to watch it again.. 2nd half is better than the first ... not your typical movie and that's not a bad thing ..

I saw this like a week ago and it was wonderful. Will probably watch again tomorrow...and these days, with so much film/game/music backlog to get through, that's extremely rare. I don't watch movies twice...at least not that close together...but this demands a second look.

I thought it was an incredible movie. I for the life of me, can't comprehend all the hate for it. Ambitious movie.
