There were record numbers of Blue voters out there.

The big problem was that huge numbers of Republicans came out too.

I'd say the biggest reason the Republicans were able to keep it close was a lot of fearmongering over immigration especially with all the caravan stuff, a ton of energy they got from the Kavanaugh hearings, and voter suppression.

If the Dems hadn't screwed up Kavanaugh so badly and everyone hadn't played right into Trump's hands with the caravan stuff, I bet you Republican turnout would have been 3-4% lower and a ton of those close races would have gone the other way.

I see a lot of republicans celebrating because they grew the Senate, which means its easier to get their activist justices voted in and it will be easier for Trump to bytch about the House. They think the Senate is safe for them in 2020.

They also think Democrats will pull stupid moves in the House that will hand them the 2020 presidential election and maybe even grow the House back red.

I kind of agree that this could happen. Welp. Looking at history helps - I mean, during Reagan's time everyone voted red. Can't get what you want all the time.

Everyone else looking forward to extreme fear mongering and racism for the next 6 years?

You know why Florida went the way it did?

Republicans have the numbers, especially from all the gerrymandering and kicking eligible voters off the rolls, to keep winning. They also have these places full of rich white a$$hole retirees who love Trump and Republicans.

Democrats need to start doing their own fear mongering that also can’t just be anti Trump. They need to have a solid message about what they are about, what they are going to do for us, on top what these conservative fukkers are playing the long game for.

The Dems won the popular vote in the House by over 9 points, that is a blue wave. They lost the Senate races because they're in redneck states that they barely won in the first place, and Trump is popular in them.

Abrahams winning Georgia was a long shot in my opinion, and Gillum's lead in the polls was within the margin of error. Florida is filled with rednecks yet him and Nelson still came pretty close.

Of course that's their wishful thinking but there may be some truth to it. I think they'll retain the Senate in 2020 but the Dems will recover some of their lost seats.

If the economy falls back or slows down after being so robust, then the Republicans can blame the Dems for it come election time.

Gonna be interesting to see how this plays out.

I want to see how white women voted. We've had the media trying to con us for a whole 6 months that white women had had enough and were about to turn on Trump. Told you they didn't give a fukk. White liberals are desperate to convince the base that "a lot of us are on your side." Can't even get their own houses in order. Time for us to take over the Democratic party; snuff out all the old guard.
Basically

Record turn out for a midterm and yet somehow...STILL...they give 50%+ of the Republican vote

This is why you gotta raise an eyebrow towards white "feminists". Their bullshyt is clear as day now.

Think about it. The GOP threw the anti immigration kitchen sink at white people and still lost in heavy white areas.

Was this a blue wave? No, however it wasn't a blue piss bucket either. :manny:
