By who?

Dude probably the most influential go to guy from sports to entertainment

Everyone that has every worked with him. Anyone that came through Sony/TM - Nas, 50, Ali Vegas, The Firm (AZ, Mega, Nature, Foxy), the Lightys; Puff, Dame, Irv/Ja, Fat Joe.

He plays sides against each other, then aligns with who he deems the victor. I'm not saying that it's anything wrong with that business wise, but he's a shrewd business man, in the classic sense. He's Dame, with more charm.

nikkas talk CRAZY to Stoute:mjlol:

because stoute talks crazy about things that aren't really his business. he takes it beyond giving an opinion and usually throws some unnecessary slick shyt in for good measure.

i think it's just his sense of humor. but yeah.. i can see why it would lead to hands/champagne bottles being thrown.

Stoute kept all of his IMPORTANT connections though. Nas and Jay still fukk with him, hell even 50 stopped picking on him more or less. Even Irv Gotti still has important connections that keep him in the mix

NOBODY wants anything to do with Dame Dash. His business acumen is overrated, his acumen for talent acquisition is overrated, his vision is overrated, his “boss status” philosophy is overrated. Everything ABOUT this man is overrated. He’s been living off the fact that he hitched his horse to one of the greatest rappers of all time 30 years ago and the false notion that he somehow foresaw and supported the rise of Kanye West (he didn’t)

Dame Dash is right where he belongs
Chill breh :picard:

I think Stoute should learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu like @Mowgli advises. This man gets herbed by everyone in the industry

"How he treats people" is one of the most important things Steve said. Dudes wanna act like Dame is not the orchestrator of his own downfall. That video from right before the Roc broke up of Dame in Def Jams offices cursing everybody out tells you everything you need to know.
You gotta remember People were dikk riding Dame when that video came out. People used to look up to Dame for his abrasive persona and bullshyt words of wisdom. shyt like you don't need to save money and other such famous smart dumb shyt.

Yet Dame has consistency left most of his business and personal relationships as scorched earth.

all the rap moguls that were held in high regard are looking tarnished.

Dame, Master P, Baby, Puff and arguable their blueprint Russell.

Let that sink in.

they refused to evolve and adjust with the changing landscape.

I would add Irv and Suge to that list as well. Hubris and greed.

Bro.. lets be real tho. AZ isnt that great of an artist. He is a really good rapper, but he doesnt move the needle. If you guiding a top tier rappers career, you have to make those decisions

But that's for Nas to decide.

Guiding a career is one thing. But going around doing shady sh*t for ego and power is another. Stoute was the one that f*cked up the Firm album too because he felt as Nas's manager he should have Trackmasters on there too. He went to Interscope and said he would take Nas off the album if Tone and Poke couldn't get a piece of the production. And all their sh*t was wack on there, lol. Which is why Dre said he didn't like the process because "people were more concerned with having their logo on the CD, than they were about just making good music."

All Stoute cares about is money and lifting his profile. So if he can snake someone to get it, then he'll do that. He jerked Pusha T for the McDonald's jingle that still plays today. Threw thousands at dude, and took his publishing rights for it. But then paid Justin Timberlake $6M to sing the song. 20 years later, McDonald's is still using the song that Pusha wrote, and he's not getting paid for the slogan or song. Stoute was working as Kid N Play's road manager and stealing bread from them later when Kid was trying to start a label. His whole career is based on lies, stealing, and snaking people to get ahead. He's made Nas some money, but even Nas fired him a couple times too and brought him back. Kid always said Stoute was a "cutthroat guy who will do whatever to get money". He's right.
