Man I’m still lost on the shyt too. I went on opensea yesterday and I kind of got a grasp, but at the same I didn’t. Like, can I go on there and make my own nft and sell them? How the fukk do I even create one and what determines the price 
My understanding is its a way to authenticate an original piece of digital work, and it uses blockchain to track who owns it? I haven't looked it up in a while so I may be completely wrong

NFTs the technology from what I understand by using blockchain technology from crypto currency you make a unique item (token) that can't be duplicated or faked.

They will be major investments but just like when the Internet first came out there was a lot of hype and bs in the beginning before you started seeing actual useful shyt like Amazon or Uber.

Nfts are just a block chain with media "attached". The concept of them being worth money is the final step of money has no real value. People right now are getting rich off of it due to it being new so you may want to invest but considering anyone could make a block chain its rife with scams
