I worked in a domestic violence unit for a while as an attorney and this is real shyt.

He's not aware of the psychological explanations, just as others aren't who can't be bothered to spend 5 minutes reading about any of this because it's so much easier to use "common sense" to navigate these discussions.
Someone last night mentioned the fact that Tina left Ike, glossing over the fact that she suffered abuse from Ike for 16 years and didn't leave until AFTER she tried to take her own life. It'd be so much easier if these nikkas would just say how they really felt instead of dancing around it. There's a shadow framing of, "no one feels bad for men who make bad decisions so keep that same energy" a house of cards if you will.

Fam, it's less "social perception" and more "a lack of social circle (one of the first steps an abuser uses is to cut off their social circle until their social circle is all their is (which is usually just the abuser and their enablers)" or "crippling a person's self-esteem and self-worth to the point of the abuser's kind words (usually after some fukked up thing they did) are a godsend rather than a ploy to keep the abused party under their watch".
Abusers are usually master manipulators that know how to make someone depend on them mentally, physically, emotionally (gets even worse when if the abuser gets control of finances)...
That shyt really fukked me up when a girl I dated a few years back (about 2 and a half months) that started with small shyt that escalated into her punching me and immediately offering sex afterwards as an apology.
Cut off all contact after that because I knew where it was heading.
It wasn't even her hitting me that fukked me up; it was the mild gaslighting she was doing that still messed with me today...
Damn near lost 2 friends because of that bytch...
It was so insidious how it all added up...
TL, DR; leaving an abusive relationship is not simply just getting up and walking out the door.
So much manipulation is done by the abuser that seems so minor adds up...
A solid example of an abusive is that episode of King of the Hill where Bill's ex-wife comes back into his life.

I'm familar with sociopathic behaviors, most abusers fall into that spectrum.....
With that being said, physical attacks shouldn't be tolerated or ignored. We learn to confront bullies in elementary school, so why would a full-bodied adult be essentially victim to a bully? Fight back or leave....not bail them out if they go upside your dome....
It's almost impressive how you're so comfortable with sharing these lazy and unequal comparisons, it's almost like you've never Google'd reasons women aren't able to "just leave" abusive relationships.

If women felt as self concious about being with abusers as they do about being with lames or whatever this type of issue would evaporate
I've heard "I was scared." Not I was embarrassed. Seems prideful, strong and independent.
