I still don't get the hype over "Yeah!" (Usher feat Lil Jon & Ludacris)

On a side note...

This was the song that was the beginning of the end of NY's dominance in mainstream hiphop/rap.

Anybody who can clearly remember the impact this song had will agree especially whomever lived up here.

this song was officially when the south was on top of the world, matter of fact lil Jon single handily made NYC look :flabbynsick: outside of 50 and the unit.

Pretty much

Dusty sampling and tired ass boom bap piano/string loops were just tired as hell at the time... regardless of how good the flow and lyrics were.

Yeah is a top Usher song, next to U make me wanna,You don't have to call, nice and slow, just call me a mack.
Lovers and friends not on that level

Those songs are all trash, except maybe Nice & Slow and U Make Me Wanna to an extent. I don't care how much pop crowds ate it up. Annoying, grating music that stupid people like.

Loves and Friends is a classic based on a classic. Maybe that's the only reason it's good. It sampled a true classic song and wasn't made-from-scratch garbage like Yeah.

One of the biggest songs of the last decade and it still gets parties going. Song is both a negative and a positive for Usher's career though. It was a positive because it ended up being his biggest hit. It is a negative because the song ended up being the type of hit he has yet to re-create. It's that song that takes off in the hood, but snowballs into a cultural phenomenon that's so undeniable that everybody no matter race, age, or background partied to.

if i remember correctly, Swizz beats was very popular and then something new and fresh came up which was this song. Plus, you had lil jon, usher, and luda. perfect formula even though the song is somewhat wack lol

Bruh...I NEVER EVER EVER liked this song.

This beat, bruh...it used to grate my nerves. It sound like they made it with an airhorn, a kazoo, and threw a triangle in there.

This was my 2003-2004 high school football team's theme song. We were spinning the ball and A-Town stomping next to it at every practice. :mjlol:
