I still don't get the hype over "Yeah!" (Usher feat Lil Jon & Ludacris)

I thought it was absolute garbage and that people would laugh Usher out the game. I was beyond wrong.

you have to realize - most music is corny because most people are corny :yeshrug: The average person just doesn't think that deeply about what they listen to, if they think about the shyt at all.

3). Ludacris was POPPIN at this point. Dude is honestly one of the most underrated "feature" MC's of all time. If you had a "featuring Ludacris" tag on your song it was almost guaranteed he was going to eat you on your own shyt.

Judging from this thread it seems like like a few people
are trying too damn hard to be anti in this thread, and simply don't want to get it.

The south had hiphop in the palm of their hands
the Crunk movement ran hiphop during that time.

so I have to automatically fukk with it?

got you. I can name a few Lil Jon joints i like a lot. That def isn't one of them

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
what does that have to do with anything?

there are a lot of songs they still play that I'm not crazy about.

You said you can't believe they were popular... I'm confused by that.

You don't gotta like them...but objectively speaking you should be able to see their appeal

All things considered, I thought it was an average record. I can see the appeal but still think it's overrated AND be surprised by the overall success of the record. Is that difficult to understand, muhfukkaaa?

how is that not one of the corniest beats of all time?

You gotta remember this "sound" at the time was a breath of fresh air in comparison to the sample heavy 1990's and early 2000's.

Even adding a simple synth buzz/lead/hit to a track could turn a bullshyt drum pattern or sequence into a hit. (Sorry Pharrell and Chad & every early 2000's producer).

The beat was simple and that synth and bass combo was more than enough for the old heads and 80's babies to get thier first introduction away from St Ides and malt liquor to Hennessy and two stepping it out to R&B.
