t-dot till they bury me
Sleeping before I had to go to class.

Woke up about 820 I think. NBC was on the TV in my room. I remember this vividly, as I was half asleep, but kind of listening and wondering why they were showing such a violent movie at 8 in the morning.

Didn't register until about a couple of minutes after I woke up that this was real shyt :merchant:

Didn't go to class, just stayed home glued to the tv

I was in a psychology class, early morning. Then, this gym teacher, some exchange teacher from Australia, busted into our class room (he was good “friends” with the lady who was teaching our class) and said the twin towers are under attack.

They effectively cancelled school about an hour after that, called the buses, and sent us home around 1-2 in the afternoon.

I remember my parents having the tv tuned to the news and just watching shyt for hours...

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
I was a Sophomore in High School. I woke up that morning and was pretty stoked that Jay-Z's Blueprint album had been released and I was going to go get it after school. As I headed to second period, I overheard two teachers talking about a plane accidentally hitting the WTC in the bathroom. I thought I misheard them and asked one of them and they said it again. I walked into second period and my math teacher had a TV on and he and my classmates were all watching. Then, time stood still, as the second plane hit. That's when everything got scary. The Pentagon got hit next and then another plane went down in PA. We watched TV in every classroom for the rest of the day. Some kids were kneeling down and praying. Some were crying. Some had their moms/dads/etc. come get them. We were especially scared because Knoxville isn't to far off from Oak Ridge where the atomic bomb was produced. That night, I didn't sleep and just stayed up and watched the news. The next day at school we started getting back to business, but all everyone could still talk about was the attacks that occurred and it was still fresh in everyone's mind for the days to come. :wow: It wasn't until that Saturday that I realized that I hadn't bought The Blueprint yet.

On a weird note: Six-seven months before the tragedy, when I was still a Freshman, we were in History class and talking about the buildings of skyscrapers in NYC and my teacher briefly mentioned that the Empire State Building had accidentally been hit by a plane once. Me, being me, I blurted out in front of the whole classroom, "I hope that never happens again. Can you imagine if something like that happened to the WTC or to any of those other big buildings?" and my teachers replied, "It would be bad."

4th grade, and I had no clue what happened but everybody was somber. Teacher asked the class if we knew what happened, and one dude explained it. It was so wild, ppl thought he was bullshytting and laughed :francis:

Edit: it’s some :flabbynsick: brehs in here. “I was filing for social security that morning”

The blueprint just reminds me of 9/11 especially when I hear "ain't no love in the heart of the city":wow:

Literally one of the few things I remember from 1st grade.

They made the announcement over the PA system, was at my desk like :dwillhuh: not understanding its significance while my old white teacher was shook. Took me a few years to finally understand why she was:mjcry: during that time.
