Breh, Hiromu got hurt while Kushida was still there. Kushida didnt leave til early 2019. His time was winding down and he knew it. Thats was why he left
Kushida literally touched that IWGP jr heavyweight belt every year for like 5-6 years in a row until he left. His time wasn’t winding down.

He could have won the title every year for the next 10 years, it doesnt change the fact that Gedo wasnt booking him as anything else. He didnt have a Kota or Osperay trajectory. Add guys like ACH, Chris Bey and Lio Rush coming in what else was he going to do? This was even a discussion a few of us had in the puro thread. He, like Shinsuke, wanted to do something else. It wasnt a dumb move he just isnt that dynamic of a wrestler where the WWE brass believe he is a headliner thats all.

He was used last night and likely might be in the North American title picture.

Do you not watch NXT?

It was a dumb move because he fukking sucks. I couldn’t stand his bland ass for years and was glad when he left. He was able to get away with it in NJPW but not in NXT and its been showing like a mofo the past 2 years. He makes “Hideo Itami” look like an all time great.

The Jr Heavyweight division was his for as long as he wanted it though. Probably would have gone down as the undisputed GOAT Jr Heavyweight had he stayed.
Act like Liger doesn't exist, brehs.

Kushida had long reached his ceiling in NJPW and fans had noticeably started getting tired of him. Even if he accomplishes absolutely nothing in WWE it still gave him time away from NJPW to prevent crowds from completely souring on him.

You say that like there wasn’t a GOAT before Okada.
