If Jay never did Nas. Nas would been left in the 90s. On the same tier as Fab, Jada, Cam, etc…

Folks dont wanna talk about it,but that was the trajectory:wow:

Nas would be ranked below DMX if not for that battle. Some still rank DMX above Nas. They are about on the same tier for me. Came out hot but fizzled early. Fab has gotten better over time.

5 classic albums
best hiphop album ever
best diss song ever
Has bodied 3-5 top 100 rappers (bodies)
one of the most prolific ever
Shall I continue?

5 classics? False
Best hiphop album ever? Debateable, but barely had an impact nationwide when that album dropped,so no.
Best Diss song? Not popular opinion at all
Has bodied 3-5 top 100 rappers? Only if yall gas up that weak ass "Ride on the freeway eat beans fast" bar again:mjlol:
Prolific?

"producing in large quantities or with great frequency; highly productive: a prolific writer."

Depends on what you mean. If you think hes prolific at making classics since you say he has 5,no. Prolific in his creativity, absolutely. Probably the goat in that regard. Although I personally give the edge to Cube.

all that was over 20 years ago if even true.

yall want Nas only to judged off his peak

for 20+ years Fab career has been more impactful than Nas.

nas been active for 20 years with no impactful record

thats like LeBron last 10 years playing and not being a all star but his Stan’s still calling him the goat :mjlol:

I didn't watch the video in OP, but as someone who was born in the early 90s in NYC, I can totally see why some might think Fab is better than Nas as a rapper.

Nas run as a mainstream rapper was pretty much over after God Son. One of the singles for Streets Disciple was "Virgo" and Nas is one of my GOATS but my god, Virgo is a awful song :scust: I remember listening to that as a teenager and turning that shyt off after a few seconds :scust:

Just A Moment is a great song, however it's also depressing AF and is too heavy subject matter wise to bump regularly if you are a happy teenager.

If you came of age in the 2000s, Fab was just looked at as cooler than Nas :manny:

Now, I prefer Nas music over Fab but I can totally understand why someone of a certain age prefer Fab music. I think the vast majority of hardcore Nas stans on here was a teenager or older in 94 - 02.

Virgo was never a single. The singles from Streets Disciple were Thief’s Theme, Bridging The Gap and Just A Moment.

Also to say Nas mainstream run was over after Gods Son is categorically false. Streets Disciple moved 242K first week on its way to Platinum. Hip Hop Is Dead and Untitled both debuted at Number 1 with HHID moving 355k first week, which outsold the likes of Jeezy, Outkast, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Lloyd Banks, Jim Jones, Rick Ross, and Cam’ron.
