It comes with recovery. In recovery which you have to be in, one to three years, it helps to share what you been through with others. My breakdown wasn't a violent one. Meaning, I went through dehydration from walking places for no reason to letting work stress me out. So much that I got sick.

Sweetie, be careful about sharing your story here/online. This forum may even be a trigger for you. Opening up yourself like this - opens you up to people who aren't empathetic nor understanding.

Be careful --- and remember everyone is not worthy of your energy or story.

I’ve been to psych hospital myself, so I feel for you. If you don’t mind sharing, was it suicidal thoughts?

I wanted to be a clinical psychologist when I was an undergrad. Straight up a teacher told me I had too many psychological issues to be a good psychologist. Basically she said my psych problems would stop me from being a good therapist. I took that shyt to heart and changed majors. However, part of me has always wondered if I still could have been a good psychologist.

Anyway, good luck with everything. Going to a psych ward is pretty traumatic, but you can bounce back :ehh:
No, it wasn't suicidal thoughts. Mines came from trying to do a lot of different stuff at one time. From filling out more resumes to going to the father hood program and work.

What does that mean? Like you became psychotic? My sister had that happen to her.

Been there

Seroquel and geodon stopped that. I’ve been taking it for years, and haven’t had a manic episode in like a year and a half. Psych meds can really help :blessed:
I'm on Latuda and it helps me a lot. At first, I had racing thoughts and insomnia for like 5 weeks, but it stopped.

I was on Latuda back when I lived in Chicago. Too many negative side effects for me. It can take a while to find the right meds. It took me like multiple years to find the right combination. If you found the right meds, that’s awesome
