What percentage of non-black Jews do you think would be ok giving their daughter up to marry a black dude? I swear, its like some of y'all forget Segregation ended while most of our parents were alive. Yes Jews were persecuted too, but that doesn't make us brothers in the struggle or anything. I am not an anti-semite in the least, I have many good Jewish friends just as I have friends from every race, but archaic stereotypes of the black race as still prominent in a lot of cultures
Edit: It's true that Jews and blacks worked together a lot for Civil rights, so in a sense we ARE brothers in the struggle. I have mad love for everybody, don't get it twisted, but I will ask again: What percentage of non-black Jews do you think would be ok giving their daughter up to marry a black dude? Nobody is racist until talk of including another race in the family begins
yeah, but this goes both ways. how many black parents would be cool with their daughter bringing home an obviously Jewish man? I'm talking yarmulka and peisos here.
plus, for Jews it's not just about blacks. the only way we survived for all these millennia is by sticking together. although I'm personally very open-minded and wouldn't discriminate against my daughter's boyfriend based on color of skin alone, many families would. not because they particularly mind blacks - just because that's how we've survived so far. this is how we do things.
i think that generally speaking, jews are very open-minded when it comes to black people and culture. some of my first school friends were black and it was never even brought up... even though this was probably the first time my parents really met black people. i can't say how things work in the average christian family, but most jewish ones i know are the exact same way.
i know this isn't really to do with jews but more with me personally.. but basically i'm like you - i think all people are cool and i don't see why we gotta beef like that.
we don't all have to be best friends, and i might feel closer to jewish people like you probably feel closer to black people when you just meet them.. that's natural, humans are attracted to similar people
but at the same time i recognize that for what it is and judge people by their actions, not beliefs or color. hopefully we'll all get there one day

As for entertainment... jews brought jazz, r&b, hip hop etc to the forefront of american pop culture. Recognizing and promoting black talent at a time when no one else would is hardly a crime
no, the music artform was perfect before jews "brought it to the forefront"
