I think I solved the 50/50 problem.

There isn’t any such thing as 50/50 really. There have been times where I was the breadwinner and other times where my wife was the breadwinner.

That distinction has gone back and forth between us through the years as she has explored new entrepreneurial opportunities and as I’ve gotten promotions and moved up in my professional career.

We share our money, there has never been a time I’ve let her go without and there has also never been a time she’s let me go without.

That’s what a partnership is about. If you dealing with someone that says their money is their money and your money is our money, then you need to let that person go. They are trying to use and manipulate you.

In an age where basic homes are going 250K on the lower end and basic entry trim vehicles are 40K plus, it takes two or more incomes unless someone is an extremely high income earner.

I say all that and my wife and I have 2-3 jobs between us and multiple business ventures.

Its not a real thing. No woman is telling a man she really wants to be with "I aint goin 50/50". Broads be out here paying all the bills while a nikka play COD all day.

There are very few jobs that will allow one person to singlehandedly support two adults, let alone a family.

Anybody living in the real world already knows all of this.
Yep

Definitely a lot of yappin and cappin.

A lot of these younger people still depending on their elders as well. Like full blown dependency… with kids. Got some in my own family so I understand, and will assist in fixing it.

Like my nephew, 25 and a navy vet but ran off on my mom (who he was staying with. I offered him to stay with me) and nobody heard from him for a minute.

Called me the other day telling me he good.. moved to Savannah, found work, now about to get his own place. I respected him getting it on his own because if you don’t now, it will get harder.

These people talking about 50/50 and basing their lives are irrelevant shyt. Find you a person to go 100/100 with, so when times get tough you and that person can depend on each other.

It’s like a balance or a flowing relationship… shyt that can adapt to hard times.

It doesn’t have to be 50/50 but both have to find a balance where each one contributes

Only way I’m paying for everything without any issues is if I’m making 200k+

But as long as we’re both making regular salaries that’s below 150k, we need to find a spot that works
Before or after taxes?

I’ve always wondered how people viewed salary. I always viewed it without taxes.

But again, I agree. It’s how you contribute to the needs of your household.

If a woman doesn’t want to work, I can be fine with that. But you will be doing SOMETHING productive and contributing to the household. All this “I am the table” shyt has to stop and people need to grow up. Your family and household is the table, what will you bring to it..

I always say what you bring home after taxes, insurance, retirement, and other deductions is what you really make.

Yes, technically that is your money but a 100K for example can turn into about 65K real fast depending what taxes and other deductions and benefits you got coming out.

Then you got to think about mortgages and vehicle notes if you live or are riding in anything newer. That 100K can be 40K real fast depending on what you got going on.

That is not a lot of money.

Indeed but I was talking about with just the combined numbers and household figures that I see online or that people come up with.

Like yeah, a single breh could make 120k but get taxed into oblivion and only bring home 90k.

So is the 90k what you and others are speaking about or just the 120k? Like do people add the 120 to let’s say her 60k?
