I checked out Engadget.

Seems like most of them said they don't have a4KTV yet or that they're fine with the PS4 as is. Doesn't sound like backlash. Sounds like "I'll cop later or something." Backlash sounds like "Oh man this thing is a piece of crap!"

I don't think it's rushed tho. Cerny said they planned this shortly after ps4 launched. The idea of it leaked last November. I think they had a plan for a 400 dollar box and stuck with it.

Some games that have unlocked framerates will run higher like Infamous Second Son/First Light looks like it's running with better graphics at 60fps. Some games might have multiple modes(Tomb Raider is basically a last gen game so it's not really a good example of a dev doing magic.)


It's really case by case. Hell, there's devs that released 30fps games on PC.
