When they first came out with the idea, it was different and truly unpredictable, but over the years what has been the lasting legacy?
With a few exceptions (punk, Rollins) the WWE has done a horrible job making MITB holders look like credible challengers. It's gotten to the point that not only did 99% of the fans predict reigns winning the tournament, but also that Sheamus would cash in. Isn't that the exact type of predictability the complete opposite of what WWE initially intended with the briefcase on the first place?
We have already seen the ultimate cash in (mania) and now it just seems like the majority of briefcase holders are merely placeholders for the title. It rarely makes new stars and is another crutch used for lazy writing.
I dunno how they could fix this without scrapping it altogether

for years. Seth was the only recent exception cuz he did at in a unique fashion in the main event of wrestlemania.
attack the the man after the match strategy. Which hasn't been exciting since Punk did it to Jeff hardy that was like 2009.
