...or at least revisit the entire process.

When they first came out with the idea, it was different and truly unpredictable, but over the years what has been the lasting legacy?

With a few exceptions (punk, Rollins) the WWE has done a horrible job making MITB holders look like credible challengers. It's gotten to the point that not only did 99% of the fans predict reigns winning the tournament, but also that Sheamus would cash in. Isn't that the exact type of predictability the complete opposite of what WWE initially intended with the briefcase on the first place?

We have already seen the ultimate cash in (mania) and now it just seems like the majority of briefcase holders are merely placeholders for the title. It rarely makes new stars and is another crutch used for lazy writing.

I dunno how they could fix this without scrapping it altogether :manny: what do you think?

I like the "Cash in moments". What I dont like are the ones where people get a quick title reign for like 5 mins before they lose the belt (Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns)

the biggest problem was thwm having two MITB briefcases a year for a while there. The blue Smackdown briefcase was ass except for Daniel Bryan

Agreed, once reigns wins the title he's instantly gonna be a two time champ :snoop:

its corny, why does the briefcase have to be colored, why are all the cash in at ppv's after a match, why don't they ever cash in on a random raw when nothing else is going on? Like during those you know the champ is going to win feuds, have the MITB holder cash in mid feud and make the ppv a triple threat or four way just once

They either need to do away with it altogether or change the rules so the winners have to cash it in the RVD way. Some douche running out their and pinning a guy has been played out and :russell:for years. Seth was the only recent exception cuz he did at in a unique fashion in the main event of wrestlemania.

Rollins also jumped in the middle of a match and made it a triple threat :manny:

honestly it was Ass when Bryan had it too. He got the typical mitb holder booking of floating around aimlessly losing mad matches and even ran out pinned Big Show after he a match with Henry. Things didn't turn around until he got the title and became a heel.

Rollins also jumped in the middle of a match and made it a triple threat :manny:
yeah, so what?
I know. It was original he did it DURING The Main Event of Wrestlemania he attacked both guys it was awesome and the crowd in the arena and watching at home ate it up. It hadn't been done before. No one had ever inserted themselves into a match itself. They always do the lame :trash: attack the the man after the match strategy. Which hasn't been exciting since Punk did it to Jeff hardy that was like 2009.

Like have them walk out before the match and just get on the mic and say "I know you didn't forget about me!" Sheamus should have cashed in on raw.

They need to scrap it. It's way too predictable. When Rollins got hurt and they announced a tournament at Survivor Series I instantly knew Reigns would win and then Shemaus cashes in and walks out champion. When Rollins did it at Wrestlemania it was a true mark out moment but everything else has been:beli:.

they dont need to scrape the mitb but like so many other things in wwe it just needs to be done better
it was done well with rollins they need to make it consistently unpredictable like that
and speaking of that why do the titles only change hands on ppvs it makes it much more interesting if challengers actually have a chance of winning a title on any of the regular shows they have every week...wasnt it the hardcore title they had back in the day that could be defended 24/7 they need to bring something like that back
