Nintendo still makes profit off their consoles. It's been their philosophy. The other two don't. Their games barely get discounted and they still outsell everything.

Nintendo first released games on other consoles like Atari and 3 others before they created their own. They didn't make games for PCs though. Instead of PC, Nintendo has expanded into the Mobile gaming market. Their track record has shown that while they've had some wins, they are still barely there...so if the only non-console Nintendo experience is mobile phones and they are barely there, that's a good indication that they still ain't fukking with PC.
Nintendo will go to another console before they go to PC.

Makes sense.
They don't push the envelope as far with their consoles, so the baked-in cost is lower....and they can charge at a price level that's lower than the competition but more than they need to offset production/R&D etc. costs.
Nintendo is comfortable being the companion console to an Xbox/PS5/PC. They "could" aim to push technological boundaries, but there's no financial upside on their end.
