i blame clams casino for his push breh, those beats were :ohlawd:
... but man i cant take him serious, lil b is the rap version of the boy who cried wolf
he is all about cookin` and swag and then tries to act like a reverend on some tracks, and that image... :mindblown:

what's wrong with having a good time, cooking, and then being serious another? As humans we don't just have one emotion, there are some days we are silly, and other days we're deep thinking. If anything he's keeping it real. He's not slangin dope on every god damn track.

I keep telling nikkas but they don't listen. When people compare Lil B to Young Thug, Gucci Mane, Future, etc... I know they have no idea what they're talking about.

Sure Lil B is a joke rapper and all his songs are 'winking' at you, but he has a few genuinely unironic songs. The beats are gorgeous. The voice and flow is deep, and some of the rhymes are :ehh:

Young Thug, Gucci, insert trash rapper can't make a song like "Open Thunder Eternal Slumber", "February's Confessions", "Giving Up" and "Real shyt From A Real nikka." They just can't. They don't have the intellect, the passion and the creativity.

I know nikkas that hate on Lil B just aren't paying attention, and 99% of the time, are dull bulbs who can't see creativity anyway. I'm not saying everyone has to love Lil B. I understand that troll rap is just not a cup of tea for a lot of people. But you have to at least understand and respect what he's doing. Dude's music is a playful encyclopedia of hip hop across regions and time periods. You have to be a hip hop head to notice and appreciate shyt like that.

Lil B fans are some of the smartest in hip hop history. Real talk. They're what Kendrick fans pretend to be.

The man is a fan of absolutely every style of hip hop ever conceived and he playfully emulates each of them at his own will. You can tell he's a student of the game (not the rapper).

More than you would think. My little bro fukks with Thugga.

I should ask: how is Thugga not a one-dimensional rapper? Where's the depth in Thugga's music?

When it comes to flow and utilizing his voice as an MC he provides alot of depth in that

Everything from using his voice as a drone in the background vocals
to the unique cadence in his spitting and how he annunciates words

I mean how can someone listen to this and say the person who made this is one dimensional :dahell:

Thug makes some crazy ass versatile music

Im my opinion Lil B often gets overlooked because of the whole image and his many troll/fun songs...
Most people don't really care to check out more of his music because they think those tracks are representative of his whole discography but breh actually got many great, very serious & deep songs....

That's not depth breh. Depth is emotional and intellectual. It has to do with what you say about yourself and how you feel.

We say Lil B has depth because one moment he can make you laugh, the next time he can speak on some real shyt and make a touching song. Then turn around and make observations about society in general and how he views the world. And he hops on a massive variety of beats that cover multiple emotions, regions and time periods. That's depth.

What songs by Thugga do you consider emotionally and/or intellectually deep?

It's not about words breh. Remember: I'm the guy that said "lyricism killed hip hop"

I am extremely about the music. The biggest part of Lil B's depth comes from his beats and his voice/flow. By far. They convey a lot of imagination and emotion.

What does Thugga say to you, whether directly or indirectly, that's deep?
