I'm saying. Tyson is like Iverson. Impressive highlights, but resume isn't something any other decent star couldn't top.Who did Tyson actually beat? Outside of
Spinks?

You're not wrong, but it's not his fault the division was semi-trash then. Also, he was so dominant, he made them look even worse then they were. Same with prime Roy Jones Jr.Who did Tyson actually beat? Outside of

Nah. He was never gonna beat Holyfield as a pro because Holyfield wasn’t scared of him. Mike never beat anyone he didn’t intimidate. If Mike remained focused, he'd have retired undefeated or very close.
He was exciting and his fame reached way outside of the sport. Essentially, anyone who casually pays attention to boxing (or not at all even) is gonna have Tyson or Ali as the GOAT heavyweight or boxer in general. Nobody who seriously watches or critiques boxing has Tyson as the greatest heavy ever.I just don't see why people call him the GOAT. What case does he have?
All the stuff you mentioned is irrelevant. One guy showed up the other didn’t. Breh he was championship caliber he just lost the hunger and got lazy after he lifted those belts…which is why he came in 15 pounds heavier against Holyfield. Sus ref? Lmao what incentive would there be for Mike to lose? Evander vs. Mike was the biggest fight boxing could have made. If anything it made sense for them to tell him to run a slow count. That’s how sports work…sometimes the better team or in this case the better fighter loses because the other underestimates the other and shyts the bed.One or two of those hooks landed would have ended him. He had to hit Mike a gang of times (if Mike was on point, he would have been lucky to land 20, let alone 130), Mike needed 3 or 4 tops. Douglas was at the right place at the right time, AND benefitted from a sus ref. You can't surely think he was actual championship caliber, as him promptly getting scraped for the title right after showed.
If Mike doesn't stop to pick up the mouthpiece, he may have won anyway. EVERYTHING went his way.
Tell ‘em. Mike was never going to beat anyone that didn’t buy into his persona. Every single one of mikes victories were before the bell even rang.Nah. He was never gonna beat Holyfield as a pro because Holyfield wasn’t scared of him. Mike never beat anyone he didn’t intimidate.
Chill…just like Ali we never got to see just how great the man could become if just left to work on his skill. His prison stint messed all of his progression up. He got our 2 steps behind when he probably at that point would have been 3 steps ahead
Yeah this ….. Tyson is a good fighter but I deffo feel he’s overrated to a degree and there was plenty other fighters better then Mike but never had the status he had his image and rep and personality outside the ring is what makes his status to legendary or talked aboutI'm saying. Tyson is like Iverson. Impressive highlights, but resume isn't something any other decent star couldn't top.
All the stuff you mentioned is irrelevant. One guy showed up the other didn’t. Never denied this. Breh he was championship caliber agree to disagree, Mike should have bodied him easily he just lost the hunger and got lazy after he lifted those belts…which is why he came in 15 pounds heavier against Holyfield. Sus ref? Lmao what incentive would there be for Mike to lose? Douglas was one of the biggest underdogs in boxing history. Someone likely got paid a crazy amount since you asked. I never acccused the ref of a fix, I just think he was a bad ref Evander vs. Mike was the biggest fight boxing could have made. If anything it made sense for them to tell him to run a slow count. That’s how sports work…sometimes the better team or in this case the better fighter loses because the other underestimates the other and shyts the bed.
This I disagree with wholeheartedly. Mike's hands backed up all the mean mugs and talk until he started goofing off, and even then he had insane power. Nobody was letting Mike get in and tee off and not going down.Tell ‘em. Mike was never going to beat anyone that didn’t buy into his persona. Every single one of mikes victories were before the bell even rang.
True. He had GOAT potential, but he fukked it offOkay, but how does that make him the GOAT? If anything, you just described reasons why he fell short of BECOMING the GOAT. But it's folks who call him the GOAT off his present accomplishments, resume, etc.
That's crazy to me.

I'm saying. Tyson is like Iverson. Impressive highlights, but resume isn't something any other decent star couldn't top.
Wilfredo Benitez is damn closeMike Tyson is the only athlete in history whose prime ended before he reached 25
Great fighter, but some of the stuff people say about him is absolutely ridiculous.
