I know you have some learning difficulties, but please, please, for your own sake, take a step back, breathe, and read the OP, carefully, and then read it again, slowly. Stop simplifying discussions and look at what's really going on.

Missing most of their best players? If you want me to take your post seriously, it's probably best not to start off with a blatant lie.
Oh I’m sorry. Didn’t you make this thread mid season? Maybe even before

Did the spurs not lose major players to injuries all throughout that time period? Is a starting PG not one of the most important people on the team?

Did they miss the offs? Have a losing record? Get swept? Lose in 6?

So who exactly left him behind? A whopping 8 teams out of 30?

Yea breh. You was waaaaaaaay off. Try again next year :umad:

I dont think Pop is being left the behind, the way the roster is constructed they had only 3 reliable 3 pt shooters who all went cold at the wrong time, I dont think forcing LMA and DeFrozen to chuck a bunch of 3s would have helped out their offense at all and would have made them worse honestly

They made the playoffs and took one of the top jump shooting teams to 7 as the 7th seed :manny:

With some roster adjustments they should be back in the title contention mix

You specifically said - "missing most of their best players", care to explain who all these players were that would warrant the use of "most" and "best" as if they were without 2-3+ of their main option players? LMA played 81 games, DeRozan played 77 games, Rudy played 69 games, Forbes played 82 games. Murray is basically the only player they were without. Murray doesn't = "missing most of their best players".

You're not doing yourself any favors simplifying my argument, you're just making yourself look silly. The Spurs' scheme is most definitely outdated, therefore, yes, Pop is being left behind. That doesn't dilute his legacy and standing in history, it just means that he's not keeping pace with the direction of the league.

The game passes by everyone eventually. Pop is no exception.

@Gil Scott-Heroin is/was one of my favorite posters but this ain't the one lol.

Analytics are right until they're wrong. Every era as a style of play every team is chasing until a new style comes in and takes over. Not so coincidentally the new style involves having great talent. The NBA is obviously going the way of the three ball but you have to play the style that fits your players and not vice versa. The Spurs biggest issue is personnel in that their best players just aren't comfortable outside the three point line so you make due with what you have. Pop has shown over the years to adjust his style of play to what's on the roster. They really only need to keep one of Demarr or Aldridge, having both is going to hurt them going forward.

Well, you'd be wrong in thinking that. Not every team has a Steph/Klay-type shooters, they all personnel who had to adjust their games and improve their outside shooting, which is what the Spurs should've done, but they chose to go against the grain and suffered for it. No team is winning in this current climate taking more long 2s than 3s - no other team in the league adopted that strategy, just the Spurs.

This thread and the article posted are still reactionary, if the Spurs come out next season as one of the top 3 point shooting teams then what?

We can’t say the game has passed Pop by until he retires, I think he will adjust but they have to make appropriate roster moves
