There is nothing worse than expectation. TOugh guy or not, the expectation to protect her and yourself is too great.
I get being the so called "alpha male" but to keep it 100%, most of the dudes who are gonna stick around are gonna be crazy by the end themselves especially if she leaves you. You done fought her fights for her, and she may not even appreciate that.
The smart thing to do is to get away. You're not the police so it's not your responsibility. If you're single and very young, you have no reason to be sticking that situation anyway.
Still though, you could be handed 1 L for being afraid to protect your partner and allowing her to feel as if she wouldnt be safe, even with you there.
If you not sure about your fighting skills, then you should get a gun and not be afraid to use it. If that guy came to your house, it would be you first, and then her.
If that guy came with a gun to her house, remember that the cops are only 40 minutes away.
