I remember in second grade organizing the first Kwanzaa celebration cause they would do christmas and huanakac or how ever you spell it. And I was like what about stuff for black people?I've always loved being black. My fam is from Nigeria and I was raised here in the states.
As young as the age of 5 in kindergarten and in elementary school I caught on to how people can be racist with the quickness and treat people who were white better because they were white. That made me be proud of being black even more. It made me carry my blackness stronger and shine a brighter light upon it.
