Yeah, I had a similar experience coming up. I had some self hate in my heart when I was a young kid because I wasn't put up on game and given the real deal on race. Then when I turned 16 I read Malcolm X and my life changed.
We all learn man I had to learn the hard and same way.

I've always loved being black. My fam is from Nigeria and I was raised here in the states.

As young as the age of 5 in kindergarten and in elementary school I caught on to how people can be racist with the quickness and treat people who were white better because they were white. That made me be proud of being black even more. It made me carry my blackness stronger and shine a brighter light upon it.
