My parents been married for 23 years and just renewed their vows. They have a beautiful marriage and never came close to divorce. How can I sit here and based my marriage outcome on other people and not my own parents?

GMB is cool brehs but my parents showed me something better.

GMB is not against marriage don't let these nikkas misguide you :snoop:

I aint even GMB and my parents are married way longer than that. But shyt has changed :francis:
Gotta be on your P's and Q's

i don't think much has changed...

men just believed in true love more back in the day then now

now you have all these rap songs degrading women....and encouraging superficial relationships...and so on and so on...

if a lot of men were actually willing to look at women as individuals....form friendships with women(which is the foundation of marriage)...their viewpoint on marriage would be much different

but quite a few men act like they are scared to just have a regular conversation with a woman...

a lot of men either put a woman on a pedestal....or put themselves on a pedestal....

With the younger generation it's just easier to get a divorce than just work on the marriage. I went to a couple of weddings last year and two are already separated and work on divorce papers as we speak. I feel like this once you get up to the altar and say your vows you are not only promising God but your spouse that you will be with them forever unless they die or they are abusive or something like that. People aren't serious about marriage these days. I think most people get married for the wedding or they are expecting their relationship stay like when they are dating each other.
