There are two things you need to be sure of before you try it...

1) Whether you are in a position in your life where something as pleasurable as a drug would not serve as a numbing to the negative or traumatic elements in your life. If you are going through a lot of turmoil or have been abused as a child, etc you have a much higher propensity to become addicted. However, much like most judge's son's or 90% of the population who uses drugs, if you have a strong support system and are in a good position in life, chances are you'll try it and never try it again,

2) Were are you getting the heroin from The most dangerous part is knowing the actual content and making sure anything extra that has been added to it won't kill or harm you.

I'm willing to bet, addiction to anything is truly an indicator of one's environment and psyche...if you're under stress, drugs, gambling and sex serve as easy ways to numb one's stress.

If things are going absolutely beautifully, although you use drugs recreationally(alcohol) addiction is rare.
