My girl begged me for an iPad last year. Bought her one for Christmas 2012. She does not know how to use the iTunes store, doesn't have an Apple account, not interested in setting up either one, gets MAD at me when I try to show her how to do it! Know what she primarily uses the iPad for?

Facebook.

fukking Facebook. She uses a $400 machine to pretty much type "LOL" in peoples comment sections, "Like" dumb cupcake recipes on Pinterest, and beg people to bring her Starbucks to work because she's tired. Don't buy your mom that shyt. Let my $400 mistake be a cautionary tale to you!

"I've decided what I want for Christmas. I want an iPad mini."

Welp my mother wants one and there's no talking her out of it at this point. Is there any chance the price goes up? I don't mind paying $299 for it.

I'm just :beli: because I bought her a Kindle Fire last year that I'm sure she's not using to the fullest of its capability.

She says she wants one because its so light and can do everything.

Apple marketing brehs...

I'm not even mad

had almost the same thing happen to me the last couple of years with my mom and tech purchases. copped her a macbook when they were still making those, then she seen my pro and wanted one. didnt cop that. then went from nook to kindle fire to ipad in less than 2 years. now she scoping my mini and hinting.

the thing about copping your parents technology is that you become tech support too, at least with my mom

showed her that she can youtube almost any problem she is having before she picks up the phone to call me, saved me mad time

also, scust at dude calling your mom a bytch

The kindle is trash tho. Only reason is its running a dam overlay as well as being locked to the apps that are in the amazon market. A nexus or even the dam sero pro 7 aka nexus clone for 129, is a better deal than the kindle. Hell my mom has a touchpad I rooted for her usues it for all kinds of things. She likes the app for free movies while she's at work. Threw Netflix in the bushes.

Dell Venue Pro 8, Its really does do everything it can be had for $300 for 32GB/$349 64GB and it runs full Win 8.1.

:rudy:

Get her the iPad. But first, take her to the Apple store and let her play with one. If she still likes it then you're good. And sell that Kindle to reduce the cost for yourself a bit.

How? Full OS > Limited app supported OS

Are you really saying the iPad Mini has a limited app supported OS? I have a friend who actually had the Dell Venue when it released and it didn't even have a dedicated Spotify app. No one wants to run desktop apps on a tablet.

Not to mention the iPad is lighter, thinner, has a better display ... and is likely to be easier for his mom to get acquainted with.

See that where your wrong. For any metro app you may be missing you always have the the window app or program to use. Once again full Win 8.1 OS >>>>>>>>>> app supported OS. You can play anything, every file etc. It has one of the best screen out and compares well to the ipad mini.

Let me apologize for this man that was rude....my pops wants an iPad dude don't even have a smart phone or wifi fukk he know about an iPad

That's what I'm sayin. The brand is so strong that people feel they HAVE to have one. shyt I'm the tech enthusiast in the family and I don't even have an iPad.

Mannn these young nikkas don't know how to act. :snoop: Disrespectful little nikkas. Maybe you can take the kindle from her since she is not using it, and sell it and use the money for the Ipad mini or Ipad air?

Good point. I might as well recoup on that Kindle Fire :patrice:

get her the damn mini then

thats mom dukes breh. that means skimp out on these other peoples gifts if need be to hook her up

She'll get it. The money aint an issue. It's just crazy how the roles have reversed. This is no different than me wanting some toy I didn't need as a kid.
