I visited my uncle's ranch in Dominican Republic and it was :banderas: For one, EVERYONE knows each other. I was a kid and all the other little kids welcomed me with opened arms. I got invited to a party and the guys played this kissing game with the girls. Since i was new every girl picked me :blessed: The next morning my uncle's wife made breakfast, holy shyt :wow: Fresh eggs, plantains, and milk straight out the titties :ohlawd: Everything just straight from the farm. No 5 star restaurant could match that breakfast. It was awesome. They had their own local bar with a pool tables and guys openly gambling and letting us kids watch and root them on. One of the best experiences of my life.

so basically they talkin' care of rich people's horses and teachin' them how to ride the horses too? i never knew this was a big business
yup. rich people pay a lot of money to have someone take care of an expensive animal like a horse and also to have their daughter learn how to jump a horse and ride well. It's a serious upper class thing

Texas is the place. And cheap too. Houston always ranks high in cities to live in.
i've grown up in houston and you can push out around the far edges of the city and still purchase a small ranch. othrwise the ranch i used to frequent was outside of johnson city which is a few hours outside.

it would be way better to own a ranch in texas than wyoming or whatever. in texas you can own a nice ranch and still be just a few hours from a main city

also a fun side note, the cacs there aren't going to hate you. they are fiercely independent and just want to be left alone. if you're out there to manage your own space and own a gun, they will love you like their own. they don't give a fukk.there were never any plantations in this area...they actually seem low key like they're looking for a black guy to respect for holding similar values to them (government out of their way, the freedom you feel when you have enough land to do what you want + texas laws regarding killing anyone trespassing)

if you act like a gentleman the cacs out near johnson will respect you to the fullest. be strong, be real, make as much of your intentions clear as you're comfortable and they'll be happy to have you as a neighbor. they just want to live and have space. if they're concerned about anything it's "illegals".

maybe. in urban areas they prefer mexican because they have grown comfortable with the people doing the landscaping and working hard. blacks and whites don't interact in the suburbs as much as whites and mexicans

in the country i honestly felt like they would rather see a strong and independent black family than a mexican. like they saw a mexican as an invader and a black person as someone who finally "got it". saw the way they lived and just wanted to be and have their own space, which is really all the hillountry cacs want. it's a wild place. in the hillcountry you poke arounf you'll find an ostrich farm. poke around more you'll find somewehre you can shoot a fukking giraffe. i'm not joking one bit.seriously

it is real freedom out there and if you're about there they will love you all the same. if you can connect, and you can, then it will be an interesting place. talk about why you're there, try to connect. be relateable. the people there are subconsciously lonely and actually can be some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. if they can connect with you they will feel like you're in it together. there's a reason people own weapons when they're alone on 60+ acres. it's cuz you're actually alone

you will get looks at marble falls

you will get a few less looks at enchanted rock

good luck
