Ok, here what I've checked out...
Chance The Rapper's Acid Rap Mixtape... It reminds me a lot of Lil Wayne, mainly because of his voice which I couldn't really get around, not my cup of tea.
Durag Dynasty's "360 Waves". The beat to this joint is nice, sounds like vintage RZA, especially with the same sample RZA used for Ghost's "Wildflower" song from the movie J.D.'s Revenge. I then checked out "Spiral Event" and to my surprise this joint was just as dope as "360 Waves". I see that The Alchemist is produce these joints. Alchemist must be in the zone because he's been supplying Curren$y with some dope beats too.
G Side - Starshipz and Rocketz. This was ok but it didn't sound like anything that I don't hear on the regular or anything that's currently popular.
That Killah Priest 2 disc mixtape is excellent!!!! I can't even believe dude released something so great at this point in his career when most veterans are
I have yet to even wrap my head around the all of the knowledge he was spiting on this mixtape or album. It's probably the best Wu related release since GZA's Grandmaster's album in my opinion
I checked out STS's songs, "People" and "Cliche" and I dug the beats more than anything else.
I also checked out Ransom's Alternative mixtape. This joint takes me back to when mixtapes were at their peak in the mid 2000's and cats were just doing their thing on mixtapes. It's a good mixtape.
I also checked out Oddisee's joint, "People Hear What They See". This joint is nice, good lyrics and beats.
I also really liked yU's "The Earn". Both this and Oddisee's "People Hear What They See" sound like really good throwback Hip Hop. I dig that. And Quelle Chris' "A Shotgun And A Sleek Rifle" is another great release. Just all the around great stuff.
I checked out Danny Brown's The Hybrid. He reminds me a lot of Young Zee of Da Outsidaz and ODB at the same time. I enjoy the beats more than anything else.
And I checked out Rittz's "Like I Am" song. I thought the song was nice. He's got a nice, steady flow and the beat knocks.
T.rone's "Hello Love" is catchy. It's alright.
Vic Mensa's DIDITB4 wasn't my cup of tea. However, that Dally Auston joint, "W$GTM" is nice. Dude's got a nice flow and the beat is excellent.
